i think what has helped me most deal with cravings is actually knowing the facts & what to expect before i quit. Cravings last 3 mins but when you quit smoking your mind distorts the time to make it think its longer this helps me to ride out the craving.
I have a constant bottle of water near me to gulp when i do have a craving & it makes me feel good that im detoxing my body instead of intoxicating it.
I know someone who put a cigarette into a bottle of water & everytime they had a craving just pulled out the bottle, visualing the bottle as her lungs really helped.
I guess if you are quitting cigs its for your health so everytime u have a craving do something “healthy” like eat a piece of fruit or veg or go for a walk to boost your healthy feeling & remind yourself why you gave up on the first place.
I guess excercise will also help with any inability to sleep.
These are my ways of coping with withdrawal symptoms anyway.
