The negative effects of passive smoking
We have all heard about the negative effects that smoke secondhand smoking can have on people that are consistently around people that smoke. There are some negative effects that you may not be aware about. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) there are many negative effect that are found in both adults and children.
Smoke from second hand smoke is is a carcinogen that is responsible for over 3000 deaths per year from lung cancer of people that are not smokers, but are suddenly in the vicinity of people that do smoke. This is concluded from the autopsies of the bodies in damage to the lungs, that lead to cancer. The poison toxins that are in this cigarette smoke have been proven to be highly toxic to humans and even more toxic when consumed indirectly.
It has been found that in children, that it cannot only lead to cancer, but can also lead to respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia. Studies have shown that up to 300,000 young infants and children under the age of five have shown these effects from secondhand smoke. Passive smoking can also lead to asthma in young children and can increase a set of symptoms that people that have developed asthma.
If you are a smoker, and are ready to quit smoking, it is important to consider your surroundings. The environmental surroundings in which a person surrounds their self will have an effect on a person’s health. Please remember what better person that is not a smoker may not be aware of the negative effects that can have on them. Be considerate of others and their needs, especially children who have the inability to make decisions for themselves.
If you are a non-smoker, picture to be conscious of your environmental surroundings if you know you’re in an area that is frequented by smokers try to make a conscious decision to stay away from that area. If you live with a person smokes make an agreement with them when they smoke outside the designated area so you will have to live with the effects of smoke is very common for people to smoke outside and not inside. If you feel that someone is consistently put you in a bad environment, contact a local official.
